Site Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major Junction Improvement scheme in York. This is an excellent long-term freelance opportunity on a key highways project, offering strong rates and the potential for ongoing work.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for roads, drainage, kerbs, ducting, and associated junction works.

*

Managing QA documentation, as-built surveys, and record keeping.

*

Working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to deliver works safely and efficiently.

*

Supervising subcontractors and ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.

*

Liaising with the client and local authorities as required.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or junction improvement schemes.

*

Strong setting-out skills using GPS and Total Station.

*

Knowledge of 278 works and local authority standards.

*

CSCS card essential; SMSTS / SSSTS desirable.

*

Full UK driving licence.

Benefits:

Excellent daily rate £350–£400 per day, CIS

8-month contract with potential for extension.
