Business Development Manager -Electrical Contractor
Company Overview
Our client is a well-established and growing electrical contractor specialising in a wide range of electrical installations, with a primary focus on residential developments across the East of England. They work with respected housebuilders, developers, and main contractors to deliver high-quality electrical installations, testing, and aftercare services. Due to continued expansion and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new client partnerships and secure ongoing workstreams.
Key Responsibilities

Generate new business across residential developers, main contractors, and related sectors
*
Strengthen existing client relationships to ensure repeat business and increased market share
*
Lead sales processes from prospecting to proposal submission and contract negotiation
*
Work closely with the Managing Director and operational teams to support bid submissions
*
Attend meetings, industry networking events, and client presentations
*
Proactively work towards inclusion on key contractor frameworks and tender lists
*
Maintain an accurate sales/tender pipeline and provide regular revenue forecasts to the leadership team
*
Promote the full scope of services including installation, testing & inspection, and maintenance
Experience & Competencies
*
Proven BD or sales background within electrical contracting or wider MEP/construction service. Open to hearing from white-collar professionals within the electrical trade (e.g., Estimators, Project Managers, Contract Managers) who can demonstrate a strong client network and commercial capability
*
Strong network (“black book”) within the residential development market (preferred)
*
Technical understanding of electrical installation processes and compliance
*
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation capability
*
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels
*
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
*
Full UK driving licence
