Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000

Benefits: Company vehicle, 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, employee profit share scheme

A leading M&E Contractor based in Peterborough is looking to strengthen their team with an experienced and driven Mechanical Project Manager.

They provide M&E services to a wide range of clients and businesses across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, retail and industrial. These projects are typically valued between £10,000 to £1M.

As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

* Assist with tender and quotes preparation.

* Day-to-day management of multiple live projects ensuring they run smoothly, safely and profitably.

* Leading the project team and coordinating with consultants, senior management, contractors and clients.

* Manage materials, labour, sub-contractors, installation, procurement and drawing programmes to accord with installation and specification requirements.

* Oversee working practices, ensuring compliance with HSE policies and CDM Regulations with support from H&S Manager.

* Preparation of contactor’s reports for site meetings, contract programmes and progress reports.

* Track and report on job profitability.

* Formulating valuations and final accounts.

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

* Proven experience of working within a similar environment including mechanical installations and project management on projects up to £1m (M&E).

* Technical knowledge of commercial and industrial installations within the mechanical sector.

* Understanding of the contract design and construction drawings.

* Effective planning and project management skills.

* Consistently good financial returns on projects, considering all relevant factors.

* Good people management and motivational skills.

* The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.

* The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads.

* Strong results orientation.

* Relevant Mechanical Building Services qualification (e.g. BSc, City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

* Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
