Freelance Quantity Surveyor to provide short-term commercial support on upcoming new build schemes in Exeter.

The Role This 3-month freelance position will focus on procurement and early-stage commercial management for two new build projects. The successful candidate will take the lead on subcontract tendering, negotiation, and contract award, ensuring best value and alignment with project budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the procurement process for all subcontract and supplier packages
Prepare and issue tender documentation and analyse tender returns
Negotiate terms and finalise subcontract orders in line with company procedures
Assist with cost planning, budgets, and value engineering exercises
Support the Commercial Manager with reporting and cost control
Maintain strong communication with project and site teams to ensure smooth delivery About You
Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor background
Proven track record in procurement and subcontract management
Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Sound knowledge of JCT contracts and standard commercial procedures
Competent in Excel and cost reporting systems
Based within commutable distance of Exeter / Devon What’s on Offer
