Temporary Works Coordinator – Substation Projects
Are you a safety-focused professional with a strong background in temporary works coordination within high-voltage or substation environments? We’re looking for a skilled Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team and ensure all temporary works activities are designed, implemented, and managed to the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate all temporary works on a substation construction and refurbishment project.
*
Ensure designs are checked, approved, and implemented in accordance with BS5975 and company procedures.
*
Maintain the Temporary Works Register and associated documentation.
*
Liaise closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Site Supervisors to plan and sequence temporary works safely.
*
Review risk assessments and method statements, ensuring they meet safety and design requirements.
*
Carry out regular inspections to verify that temporary works are installed, maintained, and removed correctly.
*
Interface with National Grid / DNOs / Principal Contractors to ensure all temporary works comply with client and network standards.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator on substation or high-voltage (HV) projects.
*
Valid Temporary Works Coordinator training certificate.
*
Strong understanding of BS5975, CDM Regulations, and safe working practices in HV environments.
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*
[CSCS / SMSTS / National Grid BESC / Persons / Substation Access] certification advantageous.
