Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 plus package
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

Quantity Surveyor opportunity with a well established main contractor in Ipswich. The company delivers a range of high quality building projects across East Anglia and the South East, covering sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial and community developments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking for a stable role with a reputable contractor offering long term progression and a supportive working environment.

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be based at the Ipswich office and take commercial responsibility for one of the company’s local projects. You will manage cost control, procurement, valuations and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Day to day duties include:

Managing all commercial and cost control aspects of live projects

*

Preparing and issuing subcontract packages, tenders and contract documentation

*

Managing subcontractor payments, variations and final accounts

*

Preparing monthly cost value reconciliations and financial reports

*

Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management

*

Working closely with the site team and client to achieve best value

*

Ensuring compliance with contractual and financial obligations

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor role, the successful candidate will require the following:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related subject

*

Minimum three to five years experience with a UK main contractor

*

Sound knowledge of JCT contracts

*

Proven ability to manage projects up to £25 million in value

*

Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

*

Excellent communication and organisational skills

*

Full UK driving licence
