An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well established main contractor in Ipswich. The company delivers high quality building projects across East Anglia and the South East, with values typically ranging up to £25 million, across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial and community developments.

This is a key role for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will oversee the commercial management of multiple live projects, ensuring cost efficiency, accurate reporting and successful delivery.

Role Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be based at the Ipswich office, providing commercial leadership across several projects in the region. You will work closely with project teams to manage budgets, procurement and client relationships while mentoring junior members of the commercial team.

Day to day duties include:

Overseeing all commercial and cost control aspects of multiple projects

Managing subcontract procurement, tenders and contract administration

*

Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts

*

Leading monthly cost value reconciliations and financial forecasting

*

Providing accurate and timely commercial reports to senior management

*

Supporting project planning, budgeting and risk management

*

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners

*

Mentoring and supporting Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the team

Required Skills and Experience

For this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, the successful candidate will require the following:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

*

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a UK main contractor

*

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, ideally with JCT contracts

*

Track record of successfully delivering projects up to £25 million in value

*

Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

*

Full UK driving licence
