Steel Fixers
Construct, assemble, and install formwork and shuttering for concrete structures such as foundations, platforms, retaining walls, and bridges.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
Measure, cut, and fit timber, plywood, and steel formwork systems.
Ensure all formwork is correctly aligned, levelled, and braced before concrete pours.
Carry out repairs, adjustments, and dismantling of formwork after use.
Work safely in compliance with Network Rail and site-specific safety standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, and working areas in good order.
Collaborate effectively with site engineers, concrete gangs, and other trades.
Report any issues, defects, or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor immediately.
Requirements
Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) card – essential.
Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter within the rail or civil engineering sectors.
CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of formwork systems, concrete placement, and reinforcement.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
