With a strong presence in the commercial, residential, and public sectors, this organisation has built trusted relationships with blue-chip clients and leading developers, completing projects typically valued between £1m and £50m+.
They are known for their attention to detail, collaborative culture, and technical excellence, consistently delivering complex builds and high-end refurbishments on time and to exceptional standards.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their successful pre-construction team.
The Role
The Senior Estimator will play a key role in preparing and managing competitive tenders across a variety of projects within the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sectors. This position offers autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape bid strategy in a well-established contractor with a strong order book.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and fit-out projects.

Interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify risk, opportunity, and value engineering potential.

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and ensure complete scope coverage.

Work closely with Pre-Construction, Design, and Project teams to develop pricing strategies.

Manage cost plans, tender summaries, and commercial reports for internal and client review.
*
Attend pre-start meetings, client interviews, and project handovers as required.
*
Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Maintain up-to-date market awareness of materials, labour, and subcontractor pricing trends.
About You
*
Proven experience working as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor.
*
Strong understanding of construction estimating, cost planning, and procurement processes.
*
Experience across fit-out, refurbishment, and commercial projects (CAT A/B fit-out experience highly desirable).
*
Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
*
Confident communicator able to work collaboratively across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in estimating software such as Causeway, CostX, or Excel-based systems.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
