Document Controller
About the Role
Our client, a leading construction contractor, is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Document Controller / Compliance Manager to join their team.
This hybrid role combines document control and compliance management responsibilities — ensuring all project documentation, quality procedures, and safety records are maintained accurately and in line with company and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting project delivery, ISO compliance, and continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Manage, control, and maintain all project and company documentation in line with QA procedures.

Set up and maintain document management systems for live and archived projects.
*
Ensure that drawings, RAMS, permits, and quality records are correctly issued, logged, and updated.
*
Support project teams in the preparation and submission of compliance documentation.
*
Conduct internal audits and assist with external audit preparation.
*
Ensure all site and office operations comply with HSE and CDM regulations.
*
Work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to maintain compliance documentation, training records, and policies.
*
Manage version control and distribution of key project information.
*
Support onboarding and induction documentation for site teams and subcontractors.
*
Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives in document and compliance processes.
Key Skills
*
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data/document handling.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and document control software (e.g., Viewpoint, 4Projects, Asite, or similar).
*
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
*
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams.
Experience & Qualifications
*
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Document Controller, Compliance Coordinator, or similar role within the construction industry.
*
Experience within civil engineering sectors preferred.
*
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable but not essential).
*
Familiarity with CDM Regulations and site compliance documentation.
Salary
£35,000 – £40,000 DOE
