TRC Group are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator on behalf of an award winning building services specialist who are one of the industry's largest independent contractors.. Operating on a nationwide scale, they take pride in their commitment to excellence. Solely focusing on mechanical, electrical and public health services installations within large scale residential, student accommodation and hotel projects.
Responsibilities
As they embark on an exciting scale-up journey, my client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Estimator to join their Project Management team. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects valued up to £8 million + across multiuple sectors, contributing to the continued growth and success of the business.
The Opportunity
As an Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in securing high-value commercial and industrial installation and service contracts, ranging from £10K to £8M + You will will be responsible for the following:
• Production of detailed tender bids and cost plans
• Attending mid and post tender meetings
• Post tender control
• Interfacing with both our existing and prospective new clients
• Communication and interfacing with sub-contractor and supplier companies, using existing companies and generating new leads
Whilst mechanically biased, the position also demands a wide knowledge of electrical engineering services. Candidates will need to demonstrate a broad knowledge of the industry and will have experience in a wide range of sectors, specifically including residential, hotel and student accommodation projects.
Experiences Required
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
* Excellent understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills Experienced in the development and application of project processes/controls including programmes, reporting, risk & issues management, change control etc.
* A professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
* Computer literate with experience of “Trimble Estimation” software
