The Senior Building Surveyor's Role

As the successful Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role within the Building Surveying team, managing projects from inception through to completion. You will work across a variety of sectors, including education, healthcare, residential, and commercial, collaborating closely with clients, design teams, and other construction professionals. Your work will span both professional and project-based surveying, offering you exposure to a diverse and rewarding portfolio.

Responsibilities include:
* Managing projects of varied size and complexity, from feasibility through to delivery
* Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent on a range of schemes
* Preparing design specifications, tender documentation, and client reports
* Conducting condition surveys, acquisition and dilapidation assessments, and defect analysis
* Advising clients on procurement routes, statutory approvals, and building regulations compliance
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining client satisfaction

The Successful Senior Building Surveyor Will Have

Qualifications:
* Degree in Building Surveying or a related field
* Ideally MRICS qualified, or working towards chartership

Knowledge and Attributes:
* Strong technical background and understanding of building pathology
* Excellent client-facing and communication skills
* Experience delivering projects through all RIBA stages
* Comprehensive understanding of CDM and construction health and safety
* Ability to manage workload effectively and work both independently and as part of a team

* £60,000 – £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
