Quantity Surveyor
Our Water contractor client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis to support new reservoir projects on Anglian Water.
They are working with Anglian Water on their new Reservoirs Programme to support progression of 2 huge new reservoirs through DCO (Govt Approval). They are primarily acting as Anglian Water's Principal Contractor under CDM for the extensive site investigation works and have fantastic opportunities for individuals looking to join a growing delivery team, working predominantly across Sleaford (Lincolnshire), Chatteris (Cambridgeshire) and Peterborough.
This role will report directly into a Commercial Manager, whilst working closely with the operational leaders within the framework. They are looking for someone who is highly driven and proactive, dynamic and who is capable to deliver successful commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
The role will involve all aspects of commercial activities from the initial tender to final account and close out, seeking to enhance value for money, whilst achieving the required standards and quality. A high standard of collaboration skills are required in order to support the end client Anglian Water.

Preparation of proposals relating to the works carried out under the Anglian Water SRO Framework
Management and agreement of compensation events and change on the projects
Provide support to the Commercial Manager and liaise with Customer's Commercial Team
Develop the efficient and effective management and issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Commercial Manager
Prepare monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed within deadlines
Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports
Ensure registers of variations, delay, extension of time applications and claims are contemporaneous and maintained
Produce records of pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary
Review value management and advise on Risk management
Prepare, review and complete of sub-contract documentation
Ensure all efficiencies are reflected in the reporting tools provided, to the Client's timeline.
Provide reports on actual costs vs. estimate & identifying underlying reasons for any variance & resolutions, in particular highlight, challenge & resolve variance to latest plans.
Skills/experience/qualifications
Ideally degree qualified (RICS accredited)
RICS or CICES membership or working toward
A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
Increasing knowledge of a variety of forms & options of contracts including NEC
Experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions
Experience of developing & implementing procurement and contract strategies
Proven negotiation and team-working skills
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge
Experience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives
Post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Full UK Driving licence
