Our client — a well-established construction contractor with a strong presence across the North East of Scotland—is seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:

– Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects across various sectors
– Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to assess project scope and requirements
– Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
– Evaluate risk factors and apply appropriate contingencies in pricing
– Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure alignment on budgets and delivery
– Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries
– Attend pre-tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions

What You Bring:

– Proven experience as an Estimator within construction or civil engineering
– Strong understanding of pricing methodologies and commercial principles
– Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
– Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
– Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines
– Strong communication and negotiation abilities
– Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field
