A client within the Public Sector based in Warwickshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Assets Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority in a building surveying or property maintenance environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role:
To undertake a full range of project management and building surveying duties to maintain and improve the Council’s property portfolio and housing stock, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice standards.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Planning, specifying, procuring, and delivering a variety of planned and cyclical maintenance projects across the Council’s assets.
• Conducting stock condition and defect surveys, preparing technical drawings, feasibility studies, and works specifications.
• Managing project budgets, valuations, and contractor performance to ensure compliance and value for money.
• Providing technical advice and support to clients, building managers, and contractors throughout all project stages.
• Ensuring all works comply with Health and Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations and other statutory obligations.

The Candidate To be considered for this role, you will require:
• HNC, HND, or Degree relevant to the built environment, or a proven track record with at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant local authority or housing provider role.
• Experience of undertaking building surveys and managing resultant works and projects.
• A valid UK driving licence or access to appropriate transport.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Membership (or working towards membership) of RICS, CIOB, or MCABE.
• Strong technical knowledge of fire safety, asbestos, and building services (M&E).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £29 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).
