Safety Engineer

Inside IR35 | DV Clearance Required | Contract until March 2026

Join a high-performing MOD Delivery Team providing critical Safety Support and Assurance across Air and Land domains. You’ll deliver safety case assurance, undertake risk assessments, and support the approval of documentation that enables equipment delivery to the Frontline Command.

The Role

* Undertake assurance of safety cases, appraisals, and safety management plans

* Hold and lead safety working groups and review hazard logs (physical and functional risk)

* Generate ALARP statements and support the transfer of safety risk to the Operational Duty Holder

* Advise project teams on compliance with MOD policy and safety standards (e.g. Def Stan 00-056 / 00-055)

* Work closely with Senior Safety Responsible (SSR) and Safety Responsible (SR) to maintain SEMS

About You

* Experienced Safety Practitioner with proven SQEP competence across the CADMID cycle

* Strong background in both Air and Land safety domains

* Comfortable running Safety Working Groups and producing safety documentation

* Excellent stakeholder management and reporting skills

* Sole UK National with current DV clearance (mandatory)

Details

* Location: MoD Abbey Wood (Bristol) – on-site 3–4 days per week

* Duration: ASAP to 31 March 2026 (with possible extension of 110 days)

* Day Rate: Competitive, Inside IR35 (7.5-hour day)

* T&S: Included in day rate (+ limited allowance for authorised travel)
