Systems Engineer

Inside IR35 | Hybrid (MoD Abbey Wood 1 day per week) | Contract until March 2026

We’re seeking a Systems Engineer (L2 – Senior Specialist) to join the Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) Programme, supporting delivery of PNT projects for CSOC and providing subject-matter expertise across defence.

The Role

* Define and manage engineering requirements and ESS documentation

* Verify technical data and support the maturity of engineering artefacts

* Manage design activities for sub-systems or processes within time, cost, and performance constraints

* Support risk management activities and apply principles of risk escalation and transfer

* Participate in system test, verification, validation, and evaluation processes

Essential Skills & Experience

* STEM qualification (Level 4 or above)

* Proven track record delivering electronic systems / sensors / mechatronic engineering outcomes

* Experience in technical advice and systems integration projects

* Professionally registered (EngTech, RSciTech, MarTech, RITTech or ICTTech), or Level 6 STEM degree equivalent

* SC clearance (required before start)

Desirable

* Knowledge of Position, Navigation & Timing technologies and GNSS

* UK national preferred

* Comfortable in fast-paced delivery environments

* Location: Hybrid – MoD Abbey Wood (at least 1 day per week)

* Duration: ASAP to 31 March 2026

* Day Rate: Competitive, Inside IR35 (7.5-hour day)

* T&S Allowance: £2,000
