Freelance Quantity Surveyor

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join my client initially on a 3 month contract. Flexible working is offered but site visits to North East Lincolnshire is required weekly.

The scheme involves transforming an existing retail centre into a modern mixed-use retail and leisure destination, including a new cinema complex and associated facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS who enjoys working autonomously and has strong procurement experience within the construction or fit-out sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the procurement of trade packages and subcontractors

Prepare and issue tender documentation and evaluate returns

Provide cost planning, budget management, and commercial reporting support

Work closely with the project management and design teams to ensure cost efficiency and programme alignment

Offer commercial input during early construction stages

Candidate Requirements

Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within retail, leisure, or mixed-use developments

Strong understanding of procurement processes and cost management

Capable of working independently, with flexibility for occasional site visits to Grimsby

Excellent stakeholder and supplier communication skills
