Engineering is at the very core of what our client does. Be it civil, mechanical or electrical, their engineers are based on site and play a practical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of projects. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to manage the M&E and Commissioning delivery strategically supporting the Operations Managers.

We have been named a partner on a new framework in the region. The partnership is set to be responsible for over £3bn of major infrastructure in the North West of England. Investment includes upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing storm overflows through the delivery of the largest spill reduction programme in the UK, protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.

The role of a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Lead includes:

• Provide technical line management including performance management for site-based M&E and Commissioning Engineers across your region

• Help to integrate the design, construction and commissioning of plant and equipment within the Water sector by bringing other people’s mechanical, electrical and/or process skills to practical benefit

• Provide a “first point of contact” for Operations and Contracts Managers for all M&E and Commissioning delivery aspects on the schemes within your region

• Support H&S Initiatives and drive daily improvement in H&S performance

• At framework and project level plan and programme the M&E and Commissioning aspects of the projects we deliver from inception to project handover

• Ensure that our M&E and Commissioning engineers’ skills are suitably matched to work scope and project type

• Help deliver strategic procurement through appropriate selection of sub-contractors into projects and ongoing relationship building and performance management

What you’ll need:

• HNC / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering or equivalent work-based learning experience

• Understanding of M&E and Commissioning engineering principles and practices within a Civil engineering environment

• Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
