Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks / Civil Engineering | Gloucestershire | Permanent Role
We’re working with a respected civil engineering and groundworks contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in Gloucestershire.
This is a permanent position offering a mix of office, site, and regional project involvement — ideal for someone seeking stability, variety, and genuine career progression within a well-established business.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take responsibility for the financial management of groundworks and civil engineering schemes across the region. You’ll manage costs and contracts from tender through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and managing valuations, variations, and cost reports
*
Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
*
Forecasting costs and monitoring budgets across multiple live projects
*
Supporting site and project teams with commercial and contractual advice
*
Ensuring compliance with company and client procedures
*
Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
What We’re Looking For
*
Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineering
*
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (NEC experience advantageous)
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
*
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
*
HNC/D or degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Gloucestershire and nearby counties
