Job Title: Estimator – Civil Engineering
Location: Glasgow
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience)

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor specialising in civil, rail, and energy projects, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across Scotland, with occasional site travel as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a civil engineering contractor and a strong background in estimating within the civil, rail, or energy sectors. You will be confident pricing from first principles and collaborating within an established estimating team.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering:

Identify and assess relevant tender opportunities.
Analyse tender documentation and prepare accurate cost estimates.
Produce detailed quotations and tender submissions.
Estimating & Documentation:

Collect and analyse project information to prepare Bills of Quantities.
Maintain records of tender submissions and monitor outcomes.
Post-Award:

Support the smooth handover of awarded projects to delivery teams.
Assist with document control and administrative tasks within the estimating function.
Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction industry, ideally within estimating, procurement, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
Previous experience in civil and renewable energy projects is advantageous.
Skills:

Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Other:

Full UK driving licence.
Proactive attitude with a positive, team-focused approach.
Commitment to professional growth and continuous development.
