Quality Assurance Engineer
Compliance Engineer – Residential Groundworks
Our client is seeking an ambitious and committed Quality Assurance Engineer to join their fast-paced and expanding engineering team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in residential groundworks and a strong understanding of NHBC standards, Building Regulations, and construction best practices.
The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out quality control inspections and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation across housing developments. This role will also involve developing and implementing systems and schedules for site checks and follow-ups across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct quality inspections on active sites during Stage 1 and 2 phases of works.
Provide technical expertise, advice, and guidance on construction practices.
Ensure site handovers meet NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and all other relevant legislation.
Carry out detailed checks on areas including:
Foundations
Internal and external plot drainage
External levels
Services
Substructure and blockwork
Floor/slab construction
Retaining walls
Identify and prevent potential issues or rework by ensuring construction standards meet company requirements.
Deliver constructive feedback to Site Managers and Foremen to help improve knowledge and standards across the business.
Work closely with the Technical Team to coordinate inspections and identify sites requiring additional review.
Candidate Requirements:
Previous site experience within housebuilding, ideally in residential groundworks.
Strong working knowledge of NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and related guidelines.
Good understanding of groundworks, housing construction, and site operations.
Experience in inspecting work and providing constructive feedback.
Excellent communication and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Professional attitude with a proactive approach to improving standards.
Ability to work independently and learn new processes quickly.
Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card required
