Their core expertise lies in the refurbishment and maintenance of social housing, as well as the development of new-build projects within the public sector.

With an annual turnover exceeding £25 million, the company manages a diverse portfolio of projects ranging in value from £100,000 to over £5 million.

Their agile and collaborative approach allows them to consistently deliver value-driven solutions tailored to the specific needs of housing associations, local authorities, and other public sector clients.

The Role

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of SHDF and retrofit schemes across occupied housing properties.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for on-site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent communication with residents, housing association representatives, and the wider project team.

You’ll be a strong leader with hands-on experience managing retrofit and energy efficiency works such as insulation, window/door replacements, ventilation systems, and other decarbonisation upgrades in occupied residential environments.

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Manage day-to-day site operations to ensure successful delivery of SHDF and retrofit projects within agreed timeframes and budgets

* Coordinate labour, materials, and subcontractors to achieve programme targets and maintain project momentum

* Plan and sequence works effectively to minimise disruption to residents in occupied housing environments

* Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with design specifications, technical drawings, and quality standards

* Maintain and monitor site programmes, reporting progress to the Contracts Manager and Project Team

* Lead site meetings with subcontractors, residents, and client representatives

* Take full responsibility for site health and safety, implementing and enforcing company and statutory requirements

* Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to maintain a safe working environment

* Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations, retrofit standards, and company QEMS and ISO 9001/14001 procedures

* Promote a strong safety culture across all trades and teams on site

* Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure quality and specification compliance

* Ensure all retrofit installations are completed to PAS 2035 standards and relevant building regulations

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including site diaries, progress reports, inspection reports, and photographic evidence

* Assist the project team in preparing documentation for handover and client sign-off

* Act as the main point of contact for residents during works, ensuring clear communication, respect, and minimal disruption

* Build and maintain positive relationships with housing association representatives, resident liaison officers (RLOs), and client-side consultants

* Handle resident queries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally

* Promote a customer-focused approach and uphold the company’s reputation for service excellence

* Support the Contracts and Commercial teams by identifying potential variations and risks early

* Monitor resource usage, material waste, and subcontractor performance to ensure cost efficiency

* Report progress, issues, and programme deviations to senior management

* Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to support continuous improvement
