Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor | Oxford | £65,000 – £75,000 + Package

Our client is a leading main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the South East. Known for their collaborative culture and commitment to excellence, they work across sectors including commercial, education, residential, and healthcare — typically delivering schemes from £5m to £30m in value.

As the business continues to expand, they are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Oxford-based team.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will take full commercial responsibility for one or more live projects, ensuring financial efficiency and contractual compliance from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, manage and monitor project budgets, valuations, and cost reports

Procure subcontract packages and manage subcontractor accounts

Assess and manage variations, claims and change control

Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure accurate forecasting and cost control

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant contract conditions

Contribute to value engineering and risk management initiatives

About You:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field

Proven experience working with a main contractor on new build or refurbishment projects

Strong commercial and contractual awareness (JCT or NEC experience preferred)

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Ambitious, detail-oriented, and capable of managing your own workload
