Document controller – Main Contractor – Surrey

About the Client: Our client is an established main contractor with offices in Greater & Central London and are involved primarily in new build & refurbishments projects in multiple sectors including residential, commercial, retail, industrial and educational projects.

About the Role: My client is seeking a Document Controller to join their growing project team. Playing a vital role in managing and maintaining all project documentation, ensuring accurate control of drawings, correspondence, and technical information. Working closely with project managers, site teams, and design consultants, you will support the smooth flow of information throughout all stages of construction projects.

About the Responsibilities:

* Manage, distribute, and maintain accurate records of all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.

* Set up and maintain document control systems (e.g., Procore, Fieldview, or similar platforms).

* Ensure all documents are correctly filed, version-controlled, and issued to the relevant parties in a timely manner.

* Liaise with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to track document status and ensure compliance with project standards.

* Support site and project teams with administrative tasks, including compiling reports, updating registers, and assisting with H&S documentation.

* Assist in the preparation and submission of handover documentation and O&M manuals.

* Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all record-keeping and document handling.

About the Requirements:

* Previous experience in a similar role within construction.

* Hold a full clean UK driving License

* Strong IT skills and familiarity with document control software or common data environments (e.g., Procore or Fieldview etc.).

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across project teams.

* Desire to develop a long-term career within the construction industry
