Senior Building Control Officer
A client within the Public Sector based in North Lincolnshire is currently recruiting for a Building Control Officer / Senior Building Control Officer to join their Building Control Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority Building Control environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role:
To assist in the operation of the Building Control service to ensure that statutory requirements under the Building Act, Building Regulations, and associated legislation are fulfilled.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Assessing Building Regulation applications for compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
• Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and client requirements.
• Investigating breaches of Building Regulations and taking appropriate enforcement action.
• Providing guidance and advice to applicants, agents, and members of the public.
• Responding to dangerous structures and supervising demolition works in accordance with statutory duties.
• Preparing reports and attending court as necessary.
• Supporting the development of marketing opportunities and service improvement initiatives.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
• Level 6 qualification in Building Control or equivalent.
• Corporate membership (or working toward) of CABE, RICS, or CIOB.
• Relevant experience working within a Building Control environment.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong working knowledge of the Building Act, Building Safety Act, and associated legislation.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, determining fees, and validating Building Regulation applications.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £70 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £57 per hour PAYE), depending on experience and grade.
