Senior Testing & Commissioning Manager – £85,000–£90,000 + package

London & South East | Multi-project (critical power & commercial) | Immediate start

Own the end-to-end testing and commissioning strategy across multiple live projects. Lead dedicated T&C teams, set the standard for LV compliance, and drive programmes to clean, witnessable handovers.

The opportunity

A Tier-1 MEP principal contractor with a significant UK data-centre/commercial footprint is hiring a Senior T&C Manager to take portfolio-wide responsibility for electrical testing, inspection and handover. You’ll be the technical authority for LV verification, coordinating resources and de-risking delivery across concurrent schemes.

What you’ll deliver

*

Define, issue and maintain project ITPs; set up/curate digital test folders, trackers and dashboards (sub-mains, finals, earthing, ATS).

*

Plan and lead all test activities; allocate T&C resources and control programme, access and cost.

*

Assure LV compliance (BS 7671/GN3) and emergency-lighting verification (BS 5266); sign off electronic test results and certification.

*

Manage switchgear FAT/SAT, protective-device settings/selectivity, torque checks and energisation (LOTO, permits, isolations/restore).

*

Chair commissioning meetings; close RFIs/NCRs/snags, coordinate with designers and trades, and prepare/lead client witnessing to handover.

What you know cold

*

LV distribution and critical power: switchgear, UPS, busbar, modular wiring, controls/monitoring and ATS integration.

*

UK standards and procedures: BS 7671, BS 7671 GN3, BS 5266, CDM, permit-to-work and electrical safety rules.

*

How to turn dispersed test workstreams into a controlled, auditable, witness-ready process across multiple sites.

What you’ll need

*

Proven leadership of electrical T&C on multi-project MEP or critical-environment portfolios.

*

Experience managing test operatives and specialist subcontractors; strong grasp of programme, safety and commercial drivers.

*

Robust documentation discipline: ITPs, test sheets, dashboards, RFIs and close-out control.

*

Relevant qualifications (e.g. 2391 or equivalent), current ECS/CSCS, full UK driving licence.
