You will be working for a Civil Engineering Contractor dedicated to transforming urban spaces and creating sustainable communities. Their projects range from residential developments to commercial spaces, all designed with a focus on innovation, quality, and environmental responsibility. The works include demolition, remediation, road construction, sewer systems, groundworks or environmental projects.
Your new role
They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and completion of civil construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering aspects of projects are delivered to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all on-site engineering activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct site surveys, setting out, and levelling.
- Liaise with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or delays.
- Ensure all materials and workmanship meet the required quality standards.
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols on site.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Ideally, qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
