Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Technician to join their service team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, servicing, and maintenance of yachts, ensuring that all work meets their exacting standards of quality, safety, and performance.
This is a hands-on role that requires a strong technical background across multiple marine systems and a passion for delivering exceptional workmanship.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, in yacht maintenance, boatbuilding, or marine engineering, ideally within the luxury sector.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, combined with a high attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship, are essential.
The role requires good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A full driving licence and a willingness to travel to customer locations are required, along with a genuine passion for sailing and a solid understanding of the marine industry.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out maintenance, repairs, and installations on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems onboard luxury yachts.
• Perform diagnostic and troubleshooting work to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Work closely with the Project Management Team to deliver high-quality service within agreed timescales.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Assist with yacht commissioning, refit, and upgrade projects as required.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop and work environment.
• Support other technicians and team members to achieve shared goals and project deadlines.
Technical knowledge:
Marine technicians must have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems effectively. They must also be familiar with a wide range of tools and equipment used in yacht repair and maintenance.
• Proficient in the use of tools and equipment required to service and repair yachts.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to a high standard.
• Must have a driving license and be willing to travel to customer locations, as required.
• Previous experience working in a marine or related industry.
• Proven ability in mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems repair and maintenance.
