Salary: £85,000 – £90,000 + package
Role Overview
The Senior Testing & Commissioning Manager oversees all testing, inspection, and commissioning activities across multiple projects. The role includes managing test operatives, ensuring full regulatory compliance (BS7671, BS5266, PME/ESSW), coordinating with project and design teams, and ensuring all testing works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Coordination
• Lead and manage all project testing and commissioning activities across several sites.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and prepare/review project ITPs.
• Manage testing resources, monitor progress against programme, and control testing-related costs.
• Liaise with project managers, designers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Attend commissioning meetings and provide technical updates.
Testing, Inspection & Compliance
• Ensure all LV testing complies with PME procedures, ESSW, BS7671, GN3, and project standards.
• Inspect LV fixed wiring and emergency lighting installations (BS5266).
• Oversee protective device settings, torque requirements, and switchgear inspections (including FAT/SAT).
• Ensure test equipment and leads are compliant and available.
• Manage client witnessing of test results and support NICEIC certification.
Documentation, Quality & Record Management
• Manage project test folders, ensuring accurate test result entry and document control.
• Review and approve all electronic test results.
• Update test schedules, modular wiring sheets, QA records, and snag lists.
• Ensure all emergency lighting logs, drawings, and documentation comply with BS5266.
• Review handover documentation and inspection reports.
PME Procedures, Safety & Control
• Monitor and enforce PME ESSW procedures, LOTO processes, key control, and permit systems.
• Ensure RAMS compliance and maintain security of areas under PME control.
Snagging & Close-Out
• Track and close out snags, non-compliances, and inspection issues.
• Monitor Gateway Tracker IDs and ensure testing milestones are completed.
Essential Requirements
• Strong background in LV testing, inspection, and commissioning.
• In-depth knowledge of BS7671, BS5266, PME procedures, and electrical safety rules.
• Experience managing testing teams and multiple simultaneous projects.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills
