Project Manager – Heavy Cut & Carve / Retrofit / New Build

HP4 Recruitment are working with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager with strong expertise across Heavy Cut & Carve, Retrofit, and New Build projects. This is a key opportunity for a proven leader who can deliver complex schemes safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality.

You will be responsible for full project lifecycle management—from pre-construction through to handover—while leading a dedicated delivery team and ensuring strong client and stakeholder communication throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team

*

Deliver projects to agreed time, cost, quality, and profitability targets

*

Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants

*

Provide strategic input, problem solving, and high-level technical oversight

*

Review design information, programmes, and construction documentation

*

Take the lead at client meetings, presentations, and pitches

*

Identify risk and implement mitigation strategies promptly

*

Promote buildability, value engineering, and zero-defect delivery

*

Oversee health & safety, CDM compliance, and site standards

*

Produce accurate and succinct project reports

Essential Requirements

*

Strong experience within the Heavy Cut & Carve sector, with a proven track record delivering complex structural alteration projects

*

Demonstrable experience across Retrofit and New Build markets

*

Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction project management

*

Recognised qualification in a building or construction-related discipline

*

Strong technical construction knowledge, including M&E systems

*

Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills

*

Confident decision-maker with strong delegation and problem-solving ability

*

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

*

Fully conversant with CDM and Health & Safety regulations

*

CSCS card holder and First Aid certification

*

Energetic, motivated, and able to lead teams effectively
