Our client is a respected mechanical contracting company based in Maidstone, specialising solely in high-quality mechanical installations across commercial, residential, and industrial projects. With a strong pipeline of work and a focus on developing internal talent, they are seeking a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing team.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on plumbing or mechanical experience who’s ready to step into an office-based estimating role. You'll assist in preparing mechanical estimates for a variety of projects, with full training and support provided by an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

Support in preparing mechanical estimates for tender submissions

*

Review technical drawings, specifications, and schedules to understand project scope

*

Perform material take-offs and liaise with suppliers to obtain costings

*

Assist in compiling accurate and competitive quotations within set deadlines

*

Work alongside senior estimators and project teams

*

Attend site visits and client meetings as needed

*

Maintain accurate records of tenders and bids

Key Requirements

*

Practical plumbing or mechanical/building services experience (essential)

*

Strong interest in developing a career in estimating

*

Good attention to detail and numeracy skills

*

Familiarity with MS Excel and general IT skills

*

Excellent communication and organisational abilities

*

Motivated, eager to learn, and able to work as part of a team
