Job Title: Estimator – Civil Works (Contract Position, Long-Term)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The successful candidate will have strong civil construction experience and a proven ability to prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates across a wide range of civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for civil construction projects, including earthworks, roads, utilities, drainage, structures, and general civil works.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Perform quantity take-offs and develop cost models for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor components.
Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
Participate in tender reviews, bid preparations, and submission documentation.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams throughout the estimation process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, market trends, and construction methods.
Support handover from tendering to project delivery teams as required.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Estimator in the civil construction industry.
Strong knowledge of civil works (earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, structures).
Proficient in estimation software and digital take-off tools.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
High attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Availability for a long-term contract position.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience with major infrastructure or civil projects.
Familiarity with local codes, standards, and construction practices.
