About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Commercial Build Site Manager to take leadership of a major new-build project in Ipswich.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of a large-scale commercial build, ensuring programme, quality, health and safety, and budget targets are met. This role is ideal for a driven Site Manager with strong main contracting experience who thrives on delivering high-quality commercial spaces and leading site operations from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all site activities across the commercial build programme, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and on schedule.
Coordinate subcontractors, site labour, suppliers, and logistics.
Oversee all structural, envelope, and internal fit-out stages through to handover.
Monitor and report on progress, programme, and risk, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Maintain site records including RAMS, daily diaries, quality checks, and handover documentation.
Work closely with the Project Manager, Design Manager, and commercial team to deliver the project efficiently and to budget.
Drive high standards of workmanship and promote a positive safety culture on site.
About You
Proven experience delivering commercial builds (industrial, offices, retail, education, or similar).
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive performance.
Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
Able to interpret drawings, foresee challenges, and implement practical solutions.
Organised, proactive, and commercially aware.
Qualifications
SMSTS
CSCS (Managers / Professionals)
First Aid at Work
Full UK Driving Licence
Construction-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) beneficial but not essential
