Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Whitehaven

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and carry out commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
Review electrical designs, schematics, and specifications to develop test and inspection plans.
Perform functional, insulation, and performance testing of electrical panels, distribution boards, and control systems.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical and control system issues in collaboration with project and design teams.
Record and maintain detailed commissioning data, test results, and handover documentation.
Ensure compliance with electrical standards (BS 7671, IET Regulations) and company quality and safety procedures.
Support system integration, final acceptance, and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills

Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
Demonstrable experience in commissioning or installation of electrical or control systems.
Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and testing methodologies.
Familiarity with LV distribution, control panels, and instrumentation systems.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
ECS / CSCS card and 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification desirable.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to work on site when required.
