Health & Safety Advisor – “Building Safer Futures, One Site at a Time”
Location: Glasgow (with travel across Scotland as required)

Due to continued growth, our client, a well-established and reputable Civil Engineering Contractor, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their expanding HSE team on a permanent basis.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with project delivery teams to support, advise, and implement Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) processes across multiple civil engineering sites throughout Scotland. Reporting to senior management, you will provide technical and administrative support to ensure the highest standards of HSE performance and compliance are achieved across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Management & Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management plans (PMPs, CPPs, KPIs), assist with RAMS and work permits.
Safety Leadership & Engagement: Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings, promoting a proactive safety culture.
Technical Support & Compliance: Advise on HSE matters throughout project delivery and ensure compliance with company systems, regulations, and best practices.
Incident Management: Support incident/near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Risk Management: Identify hazards, develop mitigation measures, and conduct project reviews.
Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Represent the company at client HSE meetings and project reviews, fostering collaboration.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience within civil engineering or construction.
Strong passion for health, safety, and environmental excellence.
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum).
Competent in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to professional development, ideally working towards Chartered IOSH status.
