The Company

We're currently seeking a talented Estimator Surveyor to join the commercial team with a highly reputable builder based in North Devon who have been established for in the region for over 50 years. The company's wide portfolio of building services benefit the local community and include both speculative market and housing association new build developments, education sector contracts such as schools and colleges, and health sector projects including hospitals and GP surgeries.  

The Role

With guidance and support from the Commercial Director, you'll be responsible for a range of commercial duties including:

Assessing commercial viability of tender enquiries
Preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial and residential projects of up to £5M in value
Evaluating specifications and drawings
Working closely with designers, consulting engineers, subcontractors and suppliers in order to accurately assess costs
Monitoring financial progress and provide regular cost reports
Negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors 
Submitting monthly valuations 
Working closely with project teams on site to assess progress 
Use of construction-specific commercial software
