Mechanical Project Manager – Construction & Refurbishment Projects (Scotland)
Location: Scotland (travel across central belt and wider regions as required)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per year.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead and deliver a range of mechanical construction and refurbishment projects across Scotland. This is a key role within our expanding building services team, responsible for managing projects from initial planning and design review through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and proven experience managing mechanical packages within construction or refurbishment environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple mechanical projects across commercial, industrial, public-sector, and refurbishment sites.
* Oversee full project lifecycle including planning, procurement, resource allocation, site coordination, and financial management.
* Ensure all mechanical installations are delivered to specification, programme, and budget.
* Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain progress and quality.
* Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and client updates.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, industry regulations, and company procedures.
* Review drawings, technical submissions, and project documentation.
* Manage variations, change control, and cost reporting.
* Support tendering processes and provide technical input when required.
About You
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager (or similar role) within construction or refurbishment projects.
* Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, pipework, heating systems, and building services mechanical installations.
* Able to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Strong commercial awareness and experience working with budgets and cost reports.
* Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across project sites.
