About the Company

Our client is a well established and reputable civil engineering contractor with a strong track record delivering high quality infrastructure projects across the region. With a project portfolio ranging from £1m to £15m, they are experiencing sustained growth and are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial/pre-construction team.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a key part in the preparation, coordination and submission of accurate and competitive tenders for civil engineering projects. You will work closely with the pre-construction, engineering and operational teams to ensure bids are robust, compliant, and aligned with the company's commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects valued between £1m – £15m

Analyse drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and requirements

Lead the take-off process and produce accurate bills of quantities

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations

Evaluate risk, pricing strategies and value engineering opportunities

Work closely with the bid and project teams to ensure high quality tender submissions

Attend site visits and client meetings as required

Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes and systems

About You

Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector

Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods, materials and pricing

Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications with accuracy

Proficient with estimating software and MS Office

Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Highly organised, detail driven, and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously
