Salary: Up to £85,000 + benefits

A long-established, owner-managed building contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join its growing team. Operating since 1995, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects across NHS, education, commercial, hospitality, and luxury residential sectors.
With an annual turnover of over £24m and a team of around 60 skilled staff, the company offers a stable, well-structured environment, supported by ISO 9001 accreditation and a commitment to transparent communication and exceptional client service.
The Role
The successful Contracts Manager will oversee multiple projects ranging from £300k to £3m, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Typical work includes extensions, refurbishments, restorations, alterations, and planned maintenance.
You will work closely with surveyors and site managers, leading project teams and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply-chain partners. Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple construction and refurbishment projects across London and the Home Counties

Oversee project delivery from pre-construction through to handover

Lead and support site-based teams, including surveyors and site managers
*
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 processes and industry best practice
*
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
*
Review project performance, budgets, programme schedules, and quality standards
*
Resolve technical or site-based issues promptly and proactively
*
Promote a collaborative, solutions-driven, and safety-focused culture
About You
*
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within construction or refurbishment
*
Strong technical knowledge across commercial, public-sector, and/or residential sectors
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
*
A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
*
Understanding of quality management systems and safe working practices
