Sub Agent – Highways – Contract – Norwich
Your new company
One of the UK’s leading construction groups is operating across the UK. You will be joining their Highways and Infrastructure division on a major project.
Your new role
- As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for ensuring that resources, materials, and equipment are available at the right place and time to facilitate effective site management and due diligence.
- Provide daily leadership and management of a section of works, including supervising and monitoring the site team and subcontractors.
- Plan, control, and monitor the progress of the works, coordinating the allocated project sections.
- Manage multiple work packages in collaboration with the commercial team.
- Report progress and performance to the Site Agent/Project Manager.
- Assist the Site Agent/Project Manager with cost forecasting, valuation, and reporting systems.
- Ensure the site team and subcontractors are working with the latest design information.
- Perform material take-offs as needed and ensure materials are ordered and reconciled.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks and CDM audits.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, inductions, and briefings are properly executed.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and problems that may arise.
- Maintain strict quality control procedures.
- Ensure site team diaries are kept up to date.
- Assist with value engineering solutions.
- Manage direct reports and ensure they maintain appropriate competence.
- Monitor the capability of staff and contractors to handle current and future workloads, reporting to site management.
- Understand temporary works requirements.
- Identify and assist in introducing new processes, techniques, and innovations on site.
- Contribute to creating a safe working environment.
- Attend external meetings with clients and stakeholders as required.
- Participate in and implement weekly and monthly site meetings.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Highly organised and able to prioritise multiple workloads.
- Effective plant and material management.
- Experience on major highway projects.
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- Strong Knowledge of CDM 15
- NEC Contract Knowledge
