Then we may well have the role for you.
Due to securing a number of projects in Bristol and South Wales, one of the UK’s largest Main Contractors are looking for a Commissioning Manager to join their team. You will immediately be across nearly £(phone number removed) worth of projects in this area covering hotels, residential, leisure, education & industrial, so no two days will be the same.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full lifecycle of M&E commissioning, covering design, installation, and final client handover.
* Prepare and execute project-specific commissioning plans, strategies, and associated documentation to meet programme milestones.
* Coordinate all commissioning activities across subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure seamless MEP system integration.
* Supervise testing, verification, and performance checks for mechanical, electrical, and BMS systems.
* Chair commissioning meetings, maintaining clear tracking of progress, issues, actions, and reporting.
* Maintain accurate, compliant commissioning records and ensure alignment with client and project requirements.
* Work closely with design teams and QA/QC personnel to identify and resolve technical challenges early.
* Manage all aspects of project close-out and handover, ensuring a smooth transition to FM teams.
About You
* Experienced Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer within Tier 1 or large-scale MEP contracting environments.
* Strong background in leisure, resi, mixed use, data centres, commercial, or mission-critical projects
* Solid technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and how they interact.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders.
* Knowledgeable in CIBSE, BSRIA, and recognised industry commissioning standards.
* Highly organised, detail-focused, and strong in documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification advantageous.
* CSCS card (Manager or Professionally Qualified).
* Commissioning Management accreditation or membership of relevant professional bodies (desirable).
