A well-established, medium-sized M&E / HVAC contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team. They deliver high-quality commercial projects across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas and have a strong reputation for technical excellence, reliability and long-term client relationships.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Contracts Manager who enjoys taking ownership, working closely with clients, and keeping projects running smoothly from start to finish.

The Role

You’ll oversee multiple projects from handover through to completion, ensuring strong commercial performance, safe delivery, and excellent client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage several live projects simultaneously.

* Oversee project delivery from pre-start to final account.

* Chair progress meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

* Manage subcontractor performance, procurement, and supply chain coordination.

* Handle commercial duties: variations, valuations, cost control, and forecasting.

* Ensure projects meet programme, quality, and H&S requirements.

* Maintain accurate documentation and regular reporting.

About You

We’re looking for a commercially astute, organised, and proactive Contracts Manager who can represent our client professionally and keep multiple projects progressing efficiently.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager with a plumbing/M&E or similar background.

* An understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services.

* Experience with variations, valuations, forecasting and commercial reporting.

* Good knowledge of H&S and quality standards.

* Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

* Strong local knowledge of Bedfordshire and the regional supply chain.

* A practical, hands-on approach and good communication skills.
