Mansfield office (with occasional visits to storage locations or meetings with subcontract partners)
The Role:
We’re recruiting a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to support the financial and contractual management of our client’s subcontract works. Based primarily in the Mansfield office, you’ll help ensure our supply chain is engaged effectively, costs are accurately controlled, and all commercial processes run smoothly from start to finish.
Duties:
* Contract Review & Management:
* Work with a variety of contract types, including JCT, Design & Build, and NEC agreements.
* Support the selection and onboarding of subcontract partners.
* Prepare and issue subcontract documentation and formal instructions.
* Oversee subcontractor accounts from initial award through to final settlement.
* Subcontractor Financial Oversight:
* Review, analyse, and process subcontract payment requests.
* Assist with drafting payment notices and certificates in line with contractual deadlines.
* Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with contract terms.
* Managing Variations & Change:
* Maintain an organised log of all changes relating to subcontract installation packages.
* Record and evaluate variations, ensuring they are assessed in accordance with the relevant contract.
* Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to gather supporting documentation.
* Ensure all changes are identified early and communicated across the team.
* Capture and secure any recoverable value linked to subcontract works.
* Client Application Support:
* Work alongside the scheduling team to prepare client-facing applications.
* Review and challenge client assessments where necessary to ensure fair valuation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Experience working in a Quantity Surveying capacity.
* Hands-on knowledge of administering subcontract agreements under JCT, D&B, and NEC forms.
* Solid understanding of cost management and commercial processes.
* Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
Salary: £50K (DOE)
