Contracts Manager
GVR Solutions are working with a respected specialist drylining contractor based in Hackney who deliver high-quality internal finishes, fire-stopping and remediation works across London and the South East. With a growing pipeline of fire-safety projects, they are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of major fire remediation schemes.
As Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing multiple live fire-remediation projects from pre-construction through to handover. You will ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager:
* Lead multiple fire remediation projects.
* Provide strategic leadership to site teams, ensuring alignment with contract scope and programme.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, residents and internal stakeholders.
* Conduct audits and ensure adherence to RAMS, PPE standards, and fire safety legislation.
* Monitor project programmes and conduct weekly briefings.
* Manage procurement of fire-rated materials and subcontractors.
* Maintain material procurement registers and ensure timely delivery of long-lead items.
* Reconcile site reports and ensure resource availability.
* Ensure accurate documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
* Maintain benchmark standards and ensure handover compliance.
* Collaborate with Commercial Team to manage costs, variations, and valuations.
* Analyse cost implications of safety and quality decisions.
* Upskill site teams in fire safety compliance, sequencing, and project controls.
* Lead project meetings and produce progress reports.
* Present Monthly Project Reports to senior leadership.
As a Contracts Manager you must have/be:
* Experience managing fire remediation projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
* HND/Degree in Construction or Engineering, SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card, Fire Safety Awareness Training.
* Strong leadership, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Knowledge of fire safety systems, RAMS, CDM/BSA compliance and cost control.
* Resilient, proactive and solution-focused.
