About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering ground investigation and geo-environmental services across a diverse range of UK projects. The position involves hands-on site work, technical reporting, client interaction, and the management of small-scale investigations. You will also have the chance to mentor junior staff and contribute to the wider environmental and project management functions of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Undertaking Phase 1 desk studies, including site visits.
Leading Phase 2 site investigations, supervising contractors, logging exploratory holes, soil sampling, and completing fieldwork activities.
Conducting ground gas and groundwater monitoring.
Producing clear, concise technical reports, including soil, gas, and groundwater risk assessments, and outline remediation strategies.
Preparing quotes and project managing small-scale investigations, including SI design and budgeting.
Reviewing Phase 1 desk studies.
Liaising directly with clients and regulators.
Training and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
Degree in geology, environmental science, geography, geophysics, geochemistry, or a related discipline.
3–5 years’ experience in Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations.
Strong technical report-writing and consultancy experience.
High levels of motivation and a proactive mindset.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with senior staff.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
