A growing, forward-thinking consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join its expanding Ground Investigation division. This role is ideal for someone looking to take a step up in technical responsibility, client interaction, and project leadership within a supportive, people-focused environment.
About the Role
You will oversee the delivery of complex ground investigations, lead technical reporting, manage client relationships, and support the commercial performance of the division. The role also offers opportunities to engage in networking and business development as part of the consultancy’s continued growth strategy. You will play a key part in supporting project management and land remediation teams across a broad range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing and approving Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 investigations, remediation strategies, and validation reports.
Designing and delivering complex Phase 2 site investigations, including supervising contractors and logging exploratory holes.
Producing high-quality technical reports, including soil, gas, and groundwater risk assessments and remediation strategies.
Preparing quotes and project managing site investigations, including SI design, budgeting, and use of financial systems.
Liaising directly with clients and regulators to ensure successful project delivery.
Supporting business development by building and maintaining your own client portfolio and attending networking events.
Mentoring and training junior members of the team.
Requirements
Degree in geology, environmental science, geography, geophysics, geochemistry, or a related discipline (a higher degree advantageous).
6–9 years’ experience within geo-environmental consultancy.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of industry practices.
Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work independently while maintaining alignment with project and line manager requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Full UK driving licence
