Mechanical Contracts Manager

Location: Midlands / UK-wide travel
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

Overview

An established, growing construction and building-services contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee mechanical project delivery across healthcare, education, commercial and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage mechanical building-services projects from pre-construction through to handover

* Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and suppliers

* Produce and review RAMS; ensure full health & safety compliance

* Manage budgets, procurement, cost reporting and contract variations

* Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation

* Attend client meetings, progress reviews and design workshops

* Mentor engineers and supervisors, promoting high-quality standards

* Support tendering, estimating and value-engineering activities

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or Senior Mechanical Project Manager

* Strong understanding of mechanical building services (HVAC, plumbing, ductwork, plant rooms)

* Experience delivering projects in healthcare, education or commercial construction

* Good commercial awareness and understanding of NEC or JCT contracts

* Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills

* Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

* HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering

* SMSTS / SSSTS or CSCS Manager Card

* Experience working in collaborative, open-book or partnership-based construction models
