About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Security Gate Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of automated security gates, access control systems, and related safety equipment across Herts, Beds, Bucks, and London.

Key Responsibilities

* Install, maintain, and repair automated security gates, barriers, bollards, and associated control systems.

* Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime for clients.

* Conduct routine servicing, safety checks, and compliance inspections (including EN safety standards).

* Work on a variety of systems including swing gates, sliding gates, bi-folds, barriers, intercoms, access control, and safety devices.

* Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with clients on work progress.

* Complete job sheets, reports, and documentation accurately.

* Ensure all work meets health & safety and industry compliance requirements.

* Participate in on-call rota (if applicable).

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven experience as a Gate Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role.

* Strong knowledge of gate automation systems (e.g., Came, BFT, FAAC, NICE, Beninca, etc.).

* Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.

* Understanding of safety standards such as EN 12453 / EN 13241.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

* Good communication and customer-facing skills.

Desirable (not essential)

* Electrical qualifications (e.g., 17th/18th Edition, ECS/CSCS).

* Experience with welding and fabrication.

* Knowledge of CCTV, access control, or other security systems.

* Gate Safe or DHF training/certifications.
