Premier Recruitment Solutions is a specialist recruitment company working in partnership with a national house builder.

We are recruiting for a SSSTS Qualified Ganger to work with their existing team.

You will be working as a SSSTS Qualified Ganger on a project in Totton.

Your duties as a SSSTS Qualified Ganger will include:

Lead and supervise a team of operatives, managing daily operations on-site.
Act as the primary gateperson, managing all vehicle movements and deliveries to and from the site.
Sign for all incoming deliveries, maintaining accurate records and coordinating storage/distribution of materials.
Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, welfare, and environmental legislation and company policies.
Conduct and monitor effective risk assessments, method statements, and point-of-work risk assessments.
Deliver site inductions and regular toolbox talks/briefings to the workforce.
Monitor site activities, identify potential hazards, and intervene immediately when bad practice is identified.
Manage plant and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and correct documentation (e.g., PUWER sheets).
Liaise effectively with site management, the wider team, and clients, providing progress reports as required.
Undertake physical site tasks as needed, demonstrating strong knowledge of all aspects of groundworks/civils.
Maintain accurate site records and complete all relevant paperwork.

Requirements for the Gate Person job role:

Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential.
Valid CSCS card (preferably Blue or Gold).
Proven experience in a similar Ganger, Foreman, or supervisory role within the construction industry, with a strong background in groundworks/civils.
Experience in managing site logistics, deliveries, and gate control is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team under pressure.
Excellent understanding of health and safety management and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
Full UK Driving Licence.
First Aid qualification is desirable.

Standard Hours for the SSSTS Qualified Ganger job role: Monday to Friday 07:30hrs – 17:00hrs

(But sometimes you may be required to work longer due to the workloads)

Weekend work may be available
